Mike Gansmoe, Vice President of Special Productions for MACY’s. Don’t let the fancy title scare you off.

For the past 22 years, he’s been the person behind the fantabulous MACY’s GLAMORAMA productions. The Chicago version kicks off Friday, August 13 at the Chicago Theatre. The show begins with the fall preview fashion show on the runway at The Chicago Theater on state street in downtown Chicago afterwards there will be a gala on the top floor of the MACY’S department store all to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House and it’s charities. The show this year will move from Minneapolis to Chicago then to Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Behind each show is a firm commitment to charity. “Here in Chicago, we support Ronald McDonald House and its charities. In Minneapolis, we’re working to further the work of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. The California efforts are directed at various AIDS Research efforts; in LA we’re focused on the AIDS Project and in San Francisco, the money is used to support a variety of AIDS/HIV projects. These are great charity partnerships that we’ve enjoyed for a number of years and that’s what makes each year’s monumental effort extra special and a joy to undertake,” Gansmoe said enthusiastically.

Tickets are still on sale for the fashion show and the gala and they can be purchased on the MACY’s website.
